Get started
- Install FramedShot from the Chrome Web Store.
- Capture a tab or upload an image.
- Add frames, collages, annotations, backgrounds, or redactions.
- Export your final visual or copy it to the clipboard.
Tab recording
- Open the Chrome tab you want to capture.
- Open FramedShot and click Record Tab.
- After recording starts, the popup closes and the extension badge shows REC.
- To stop, open FramedShot again and click Stop and Edit.
- The video editor opens with trim, frame, and Export WebM controls.
If recording fails, try a normal webpage and avoid restricted Chrome pages such as browser settings, extension pages, or the Chrome Web Store. FramedShot records the current browser tab only.
Tab recordings are stored locally in browser IndexedDB while editing and are not uploaded to FramedShot.

Can FramedShot record browser tabs?
Yes. Use Record Tab from the extension, watch for the REC badge, then reopen the extension and choose Stop and Edit to trim, frame, and export WebM.
Do my screenshots leave my browser?
No account is required, and image processing is designed to happen locally in your browser.
How do redactions work?
You can hide sensitive details using blur, pixelate, or solid-fill redactions before sharing.
Can I create side-by-side collages?
Yes. FramedShot supports multi-image layouts for comparisons, before-and-after visuals, and responsive showcases.
Can I export in PNG, JPG, WebP, or WebM?
Screenshots export in PNG, JPG, or WebP. Tab recordings export as WebM only.
Does FramedShot add watermarks?
No. FramedShot is free and does not add watermarks.
Do I need an account?
No. You can use FramedShot without creating an account.
